I bring this up because I receive many e-mails or tweets along the same lines.

I have seen 6 horse fields before which are relatively competitive despite the short number.

Race 6 – LIFE IN SHAMBLES – The Steve Asmussen gelding has found a home sprinting.

RACE 1 – 25K Claimer – NW2L – 6 ½ Furlongs – 3 YO-UpTodd Pletcher had first and second favorite when they left the gate but only one finished.

I’m sure you know by now that I am not only a public handicapper, one who among other things can lay claim to winning a number of national handicapping contest, including the initial $500,000 NTRA/DRF CHAMPIONSHIP, but most important of all, I make my living betting horses.

The summer racing seasons at Del Mar and Saratoga are all about the top horses, trainers and jockeys in horseracing, and the top-notch handicapping and betting opportunities that go along with them.

Race 2 – BRIMSTONE – After the race was washed from the turf to a mile and an eight on the main track trainer John Terranova kept this one in. But given that the Grade II Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday and The Grade I Haskell Invitational on Sunday drew as many top 3-year olds in training as they did allows me to say that these are two of the most competitive 6 horse fields I have seen in recent memory.

Saratoga is America’s premier annual horseracing meet, and there is no better place for race fans and handicappers to watch, wager, and enjoy the best summertime racing than at “The Spa” meet, which annually brings together the best horses, trainers, and jockeys in North American racing.  The competition on the track is stiff and evenly-matched, and a lot of rookie handicappers are adding money to the pari-mutuel pools. The fields will be huge, the competition will be stiff and evenly-matched, and the payoffs will often be pricey and loaded with good value for horseplayers who are willing to put in the necessary effort.

You Can Win Big at a Casino! Myth or Truth?

We’re waiting for them to hit.”. I think it’s an obvious strategy that they have.”

In fact even the handle pull is a joke. But you can improve your chances. It doesn’t matter what happened the last 100 times. “We need people winning everywhere in order to have people coming back here.”

Other casino experts confirm it. However, one truth is that the more expensive machines like the dollar machines pay out a higher percentage of what you put in than the quarter machines, and the quarter machines pay out more than the nickel machines.

“If that were the case, we wouldn’t have anybody playing anywhere but the end aisles,” said Larry Mullin, president and chief operating officer of the Borgata.

Know the Odds

“The fact is, it’s a myth,” said the Borgata’s Mullin. I’m afraid to get up because I feel like if I get up, the next person’s going to win. And the worst odds are probably Keno. “Absolutely. For instance, many players have theories such as one that casinos put their better-paying machines at the entrances or at the end of each row. When you press the button, or pull the handle, you lock in whatever numbers were up then. It’s a myth that the end of the aisle gives you an advantage. The odds will catch up with you if you play long enough. So, it’s kind of hard to walk away.”

One man said, “They like to put them wherever there’s high traffic so the people walking by see it and they go, ‘Oh, I’m gonna play the slots because everybody’s hitting.’”

A ‘Cold’ Machine Is Due to Get ‘Hot’

Location, Location, Location

There’s no way around it. Another believes casinos do it to “draw more people in. If you play blackjack well, or baccarat, or you bet pass/don’t pass in craps, casinos will keep about a dollar for every $100 bet.

Gamblers are a superstitious breed. I will sit there and put more money in. The slots are worse. They don’t make that money by losing to you.

That’s because the slot machine’s results are controlled by a computer chip called a random number generator. That’s what gamblers at the Borgata casino in Atlantic City said.

Another myth is that a machine is “hot” or “cold” — that eventually a machine is due to pay off.

Her friend agreed. Casinos keep an average of 2 percent to 12 percent of each spin. If a casino tried to do that, the government would call it a scam.

Of course, people do win money. It costs bundles of money to pay for all the glitzy buildings, spectacular attractions, all those employees and all the fat profits that casinos make.

A spin of the roulette wheel will probably cost you twice that. At one time, when slot machines were mechanical, the handle pull spun the reels. “Right now these would be on a cold spurt, and we’re all still sitting here playing. They’ve created lots of myths about gambling, like there are ways to beat the odds and win — if you just know the right strategy.

But casino odds are not nearly as bad as the government’s “casinos”: state lotteries. “The odds are the same every time you pull the handle.”

Slot machines are the favorite game for most casino gamblers and they’ve inspired many myths. But think about the odds. The spinning reels just provide suspense.

“You have the same chance of winning whether you’re at the back of the casino, the middle of the casino, the north of the casino, the south of the casino, the fact is, you have the same chance of winning anywhere,” Mullin said. The house keeps $25 out of $100 bet.

“The higher-paying machines are closer to the aisles,” one woman said. Each pull is a totally fresh start.

“Sure, if you do play a machine long enough it’s going to go through its hot and cold spurts,” one woman said, pointing to the machines she and her friends were playing. The random number generator generates numbers constantly. Those machines are long gone. Here the house — the government — takes half your money. With today’s machines, the handle has no effect on what numbers come up

For instance betting on horse race, car races, sports betting are all different types of gaming because in these cases too a person puts an amount of money at stake, calculates the odds etc.

Some of the most common gambling games are poker, baccarat, blackjack, video poker, slot machines etc. Poker is the well-known game of skill. The game of video poker is quite popular in Las Vegas. But today with the advent of online gaming any gambling aficionado can relish gaming while relaxing on his couch. This is followed by a machine evaluation of the hands. It is played by placing a bet of one or more credits and by inserting money into the machine. Few decades from now, gambling at home meant lot of expense and work. What voters want in a VP

That group tilts the other way on Clinton and is not much different from other voters on this question, with 9% saying they’d be less likely to back Clinton with a female running mate and 3% more likely to.

One candidate with political experience who may be under consideration as Trump’s running mate, New Jersey Gov. Overall, 35% have a favorable impression of him, down from 41% in January. The poll includes interviews with 891 registered voters. But the Democratic electorate isn’t sold on Warren as the ideal running mate for Clinton; just 34% say Clinton ought to select Warren while 54% say they’d rather see someone else share the ticket with Clinton.

The poll also finds that House Speaker Paul Ryan, the Republican Party’s vice presidential nominee in 2012 who will preside over the GOP convention next month, is viewed positively by Republicans who support Trump (55% have a positive impression) as well as those who would rather see someone else atop the ticket (65% favorable).

The survey finds just a handful of Republican voters want their presumptive nominee to choose someone just like him. Elizabeth Warren makes frequent appearances on handicappers’ lists of possible picks for Clinton, largely on the strength of her sharp attacks on Trump and her ability to appeal to the more liberal Democratic voters who supported Bernie Sanders. Among Republicans, his favorability rating has held roughly steady over that same time — 57% favorable in January and 54% now.

In an election year when the politics of gender have been front and center, voters are largely agreed that they won’t be swayed by the gender of any vice presidential selection. Chris Christie, hasn’t done much to improve his standing in the public eye since his run for the GOP nomination ended earlier this year. Trump’s supporters in the party are a bit more likely to say he should choose someone with military experience — 49% say so vs. Results for registered voters have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Republican women are a bit less apt than GOP men to trust Trump to handle the responsibilities of commander-in-chief, according to CNN/ORC poll results released Tuesday, and GOP women are also more likely to say Trump should choose someone with military experience (51% say so vs. Just 8% say they’d like to see Trump select someone with a background in the business world, while the rest are divided between a running mate with experience in the military (47% would prefer that) or in politics (43% prefer a politician).

But among movable voters, that is those who say their minds could change between now and November, a female running mate is more of an asset for Trump. 41% who prefer political experience, while those who would rather see someone else heading the GOP are more evenly divided between a political (46%) or military (44%) running mate.

On the Democratic side, Massachusetts Sen. Almost 9 in 10 say that if Trump or Clinton were to choose a woman as their running mate, it wouldn’t impact their vote either way. 43% among GOP-leaning men).

Clinton is poised to become the first woman to lead a major party ticket at next month’s Democratic convention, and more say they would be dissuaded from backing her if she chose a woman (10%) than said they would be more likely to back her if she chose a female candidate (4%). Nationwide, she’s less well known: 40% of voters say they haven’t heard of her or don’t have an opinion, while those who do have an impression are about evenly divided, 31% favorable to 29% unfavorable.

The CNN/ORC poll was conducted by telephone June 16-19 among a random national sample of 1,001 adults. For Trump, whose challenges with female voters have produced a nearly 20-point gender gap in overall presidential preferences, choosing a female running mate would be largely a wash: 6% say it would make them more likely to back him, 4% less likely.

Warren is viewed favorably by a narrow majority of Democrats — 51% have a positive impression, 14% an unfavorable one and 35% aren’t sure — but her appeal is slightly larger among those already behind Clinton (54% have a favorable view) than among those who would rather see Sanders as the party’s nominee (48% favorable). In that group, 12% say Trump’s choice of a female running mate would make them more likely to back him, 3% less likely to support him

DAY two of Glorious Goodwood sees an excellent renewal of the Qatar Sussex Stakes with the winners of the English, Irish and French 2,000 Guineas locking horns again. MARK Johnston is enjoying a typically fruitful week at Glorious Goodwood. He rarely wins and his form figures look uninspiring but he has slipped to his lowest mark in more than a year (102) and was only three lengths behind Educate in the John Smith’s Cup. The mare is well drawn and has a similar profile to last year’s winner Magical Memory. If Adam Kirby can engineer a decent position from a wide draw he should run a huge race. 2.00: A typically tricky handicap kicks things off with 18 runners. However Mark Johnston has an even better record at Glorious Goodwood and FIRE FIGHTING looks decent value at around 10/1. Here are a few fancies…. I met Lumiere, his star filly (left), and I did a piece for the Sunday Express which might interest you. He returns to Ripon tonight and although he is 9lb higher than his last run at the Garden Racecourse he should go very close with conditions in his favour. I WAS lucky enough to spend the morning at Mark Johnston’s huge operation in Middleham last week. He was about two lengths ahead of Naval Warfare who he reopposes today. THE countdown to Glorious Goodwood is underway, or rather the Qatar Goodwood Festival. If you have never been to Middleham itself then you are missing a treat. The improver is Shakopee who won well under Jamie Spencer last time out and Luca Cumani has a track record of readying one for the big Goodwood handicaps. Summer has finally arrived with a vengeance and, thankfully, the weather looks set fair for this coming week.

TRIATHLON is interesting in the last race at Haydock today (5.00). The son of Royal Applause was scribbled into many notebooks after an eye-catching debut at Sandown when he stayed on in taking style to be second to Larchmont Lad. The course is being watered to maintain ground that is good to firm (good in places) and after a soggy Ascot it will be great to see a summer racing festival run on proper fast ground. A price of around 10/1 looks fair. The ground is likely to have some dig and as long as she handles it she should go very close under the excellent Danny Tudhope in what is an ordinary class five handicap. Read More

Do Horse Racing Betting Systems Work? by Martin Blacksheep

What you end up with is a set of very secure favorites that have an extremely high chance of winning. Ok now don’t go all skeptical on me at this point. The twist is, you don’t even bet for a win! By betting for a place only you dramatically increase the odds in your favor. He lays the complete betting system out before you, why bet on favorites and why for a place? The answer… I’ve been ripped off before with horse racing betting systems so I understand exactly where you’re coming from. However investing on certain favorites that have passed a set of Ali’s betting system rules will definitely set the odds in your favor in a very big way!

First off all let me clarify something, when he talks about making money from horse racing betting, he’s not talking about a few freak or lucky wins in a month. In the limited space I have available in this article there’s no way I can fully convince you about how much you can learn from this guys betting system. Plus it takes only 10-20 minutes to use on any race day. This is a betting system that really delivers.

Don’t get me wrong. Its simply a matter of consistently following the betting system.

I recently came across Mohammed Ali’s Betting system, How to ‘Place Bets’ on Favorites for a Living.

Ali’ betting system can be applied to any gallop horse race in the world. What he’s referring to is consistently profiting week after week and year after year from punting. With How to ‘Place Bets’ on Favorites for a Living , you don’t need any prior horse betting or statistics knowledge. Occasionally they will get lucky and succeed. For a betting system, believe me, that’s pretty revolutionary!

He then put these horses through a set of betting system simple rules to eliminate any risks they may be carrying. Its safe, quick and easy… I can say in all honesty that as a former frustrated punter it is well worth the time checking out this information. Most never even try a betting system, something which is essential to actually make a consistent profit on horse betting.

He answers the questions of why place betting on favorites is simply the quickest way to profit from horse racing betting.

So the Horse racing betting system in a nutshell goes something like this:-

Horse Racing Betting Systems – Do they Work?

Let me assure you that the betting system is written in plain English and it’s easy enough for a 11 year old to use. The word here is lucky, in the long run they will certainly lose money. Few betting systems deliver on what they promise. it’s so easy that at times it feels almost unfair. The majority of punters that lose money on horse racing try to make big sums of money from just a few dollars. Its already been extensively used in America, Hong Kong, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, UK and most of Europe for over 13 years by thousands of people. It is theoretically possible to make a consistent profit on investing in high priced non favorites at the track. You’ve sent away for stuff that never quite reached you, or you bought something and it didn’t live up to its expectations. Does anyone really have the spare time to do this consistently? Call me lazy but why make things hard for yourself betting on hard to pick non favorites when you can very, very easily profit from the favorites!

If you want to be shown a step-by-step outline of exactly how you can use Ali’s betting system, How to ‘Place Bets’ on Favorites for a Living, to consistently earn an income from horse racing betting, then head on over to the website at
